Content Areas:

Online Courses for ELLs:

  • FuelEducation (formerly Avenda) Learningcredit recovery courses that  include support for English Language Learners.  The courses have built in scaffolding that includes vocabulary instruction in English and Spanish at the start of the course, audio representation of instructional text  (students click on an icon to have the text read aloud), lowered instructional reading level.
  • Khan Academy:  ELLs can benefit from seeing a visual image provided with oral dialogue.  In addition, the ability to watch a lesson repeatedly can be helpful. Khan Academy videos are available on a variety of content topics and are FREE.
